What Ale's Ya opened in 1996 to give Valley home brewers and winemakers a real local shop — fresh ingredients, the right equipment, and people who actually brew. Two generations of owners and nearly thirty years later, that's still the whole idea.
Chuck opens the doors
Chuck Therio opens What Ale's Ya and runs it flawlessly for twenty-five years, supplying Phoenix and West Valley home brewers and winemakers with everything they need.
Adam & Allie take over
When Chuck retires, longtime customers Adam and Allie buy the shop to keep the W.A.Y. going for the next generation of brewers.
Classes begin
By mid-2021 the shop floor doubles as a classroom, with Brewing 101, All-Grain and wine classes for every level.
W.A.Y. Better Beer Kits
House recipes arrive, each one brewed and tested before it hits the shelf. Today there are 38.
The taproom opens
